If you are friendly with the people you are racing with, or it's very minor contact, then it isn't as bad. However, if you are in a serious race and you hit somebody from the rear to overtake them. You may receive a penalty and they will not be impressed. If it's accidental the best thing to do is to apologise and let them back through.

If someone is not quite at racing speed yet, try and pass them as smooth as you can. If they let you through, give them a thumbs up to let them know that you're grateful. Track marshals appreciate clean drivers.

3. Stay in the kart at all times (Arrive and drive).
If you spin or crash into the barriers. Stay in the kart, the marshal is coming to get you back on track. If you get out of the kart on a busy racetrack, you are putting yourself in a lot of danger.
