Advanced Overtakes
We all know the Dive Bomb. Break late, dive up the inside and attempt to snatch the positions off your opponents. This isn't a great maneuvers when it comes to karting, it's risky and quite dangerous. Here are some exciting overtakes that look great on track.
The Switchback:

The Switchback is a relatively easy overtake to do. It is mainly used on sharp corners and is an easy way to overtake the racer in front.
How to perform: This will work if your opponent has the inside line. Entering the corner, your opponent will need to go wider on the exit to keep the speed. You can take a later apex to be on the inside for the track and carry a higher speed. You will most likely finish the overtake in front.
The Setup:

This is how to start overtaking more professionally and cleanly. The setup requires knowledge of the track. This is where you plan to overtake at a certain part of the track, making sure you have the highest speed available for that part. This will normally take a few laps to prepare.
Faking a Move:

This is how to get past good defenders. This move is tricking the defender into thinking you're moving into another part of the track. They will move over to defend their line and you can fly past them on your actual line.
Round The Outside:

This overtake isn't too difficult to perform, it just requires bravery. If you get a greater amount of speed along a straight and the opponent is defending the inside. You can drive around the outside of them during a corner and, if they leave the room, you should be able to get past. This can also be used to defend if someone tries to overtake up the inside.
Analysing Your Opponents:

Before you race, make sure you know some strengths and weaknesses of your opponents. Compare your strengths to them and see where you can overtake them. It won't take too many laps to find them as you can see when you catch them.
